It is a closed system, which is why a leak in it does not announce itself the way a broken part does: the unit keeps running and simply stops holding temperature. Diagnosis matters more here than anywhere else on this list, because the wrong call means opening a circuit that did not need opening.

How do I know it is the sealed system and not something cheaper?
You usually do not, and that is the point of diagnosing first. A cabinet running warm can be a condenser, a fan, a gasket or a defrost circuit long before it is the sealed system — we rule those out before opening a refrigerant circuit.
Why does this cost more than on a regular refrigerator?
Built-in parts cost more and the access is slower. A unit fitted into cabinetry has to be reached before any of the work starts, and the figures published online are mostly for freestanding refrigerators.
My cabinet has two sealed systems. Does that double it?
Not automatically. Dual-refrigeration cabinets are priced per system, and if only one side is in trouble that is the side we work on.
Will the unit hold temperature afterwards?
